We are forward thinking, first generation farmers who partner with responsible landowners to deliver sustainable livestock farming and land management.

our ethos

Kind to our animals

The welfare of our animals is of paramount importance. Our animals are healthy and happy, and we are voluntarily registered under the Red Tractor farm assurance scheme.

This guarantees that our produce is traceable, safe and farmed with care.

Most importantly, our animals live happy, healthy lives. The best bit is as they only eat forage, they are slow grown and get to enjoy lots more time in the great outdoors.

Farming the natural way

As stewards of the land, we have a duty to do the right thing with a long term future in mind. We farm in harmony with nature, and our livestock roam extensively on land that is managed for the long term benefit of the environment.

The land is voluntarily registered under environmental stewardship schemes. We restrict the use of artificial sprays and fertilisers, incorporate wildflower rich pastures to build bio-diversity, and re-generate and re-claim unmanaged sites.

Kind to the environment

Our farming system is entirely forage based – this means our livestock enjoy their favourite food; grass, throughout their lives.

Our sheep live outdoors year round, they give birth outside and in every case possible do so without human intervention.

Our cattle require a few more creature comforts in the winter months, but are housed in large open barns with a thick straw bed and as much hay as they desire.

It’s that time of year again. As the nights draw darker and most batten down the hatches for winter, we have already got our sights on the Spring and the joy that seeing new born lambs brings. Our first flock is due to lamb from March 2021, which means the rams went into the ewes in October 2020. In total, we have got 600 ewes to lamb – this means we are expecting over 1,000 Sustainably Farmed lambs to enter this World come spring 2021. It’s great how farming forces us to remain future focussed (continue reading...)
